Why Clients Choose to Work With Me
Finding the right therapist matters. Beyond experience and credentials, the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of success in therapy. Clients often choose to work with me because they are looking for a therapist who is:
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. Whether you're feeling stuck, struggling with anxiety, navigating a major life transition, facing relationship difficulties, or simply looking for support and perspective, therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain clarity, and move forward with intention.
I'm Nicole McAnally-Turner, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and founder of Integrated Healing Solutions. I have over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and families and more than 10 years as a licensed therapist. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported.
I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can show up as your authentic self. Together, we'll explore challenges, identify patterns, build practical coping strategies, and work toward goals that feel realistic and meaningful for your life. While I provide support and encouragement, I also believe in being honest, direct, and helping clients stay accountable to the changes they want to make.
I view therapy as a partnership. You are the expert on your own experiences, and my role is to provide guidance, perspective, and evidence-based tools to help you navigate challenges, build on your strengths, and create lasting change.
Warm and Supportive
I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment. Therapy should feel safe enough to talk about the things that are difficult, messy, or uncertain.
Direct and Honest
While I am supportive, I am also straightforward. Clients often tell me they appreciate having someone who will gently challenge them, offer honest feedback, and help them stay accountable to their goals.
Practical and Real-Life Focused
Insight is important, but meaningful change happens when insight is paired with action. Together, we'll develop practical tools and strategies that can be applied in everyday lifeโnot just during session.
Collaborative
I don't believe therapy should feel like being talked at. We work together to identify goals, explore challenges, and determine what approaches fit best for your needs and personality.
Inclusive and Affirming
I am committed to providing culturally responsive, LGBTQIA+ affirming care where clients feel respected, understood, and supported in bringing their whole selves into the therapy space.
My Therapeutic Approach
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I tailor treatment to each client's needs, goals, strengths, and experiences while drawing from evidence-based practices.
Approaches I may incorporate include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Person-Centered Therapy
Motivational Interviewing
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Mindfulness-based interventions
Solution-Focused Therapy
Psychodynamic concepts
By integrating multiple approaches, therapy can address both immediate concerns and the deeper patterns that may be contributing to ongoing challenges.
My Philosophy
I believe meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. Therapy is not about "fixing" youโit's about helping you better understand yourself, navigate challenges more effectively, and build a life that feels more aligned with your values and goals.
My approach is warm, practical, and culturally aware. I recognize the connection between emotional and physical well-being and strive to help clients develop both insight and actionable strategies for growth. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, facing a difficult transition, working through relationship challenges, or simply looking for additional support, therapy can provide a space to pause, reflect, heal, and move forward with greater confidence and intention.
